"Celebrating The Word"
Celebrating the Word (CTW) is designed to be a user-friendly resource for
Faith Sharing Communities everywhere, also recognized as
Small Christian Communities
 (SCC) and
Basic Christian Communities (BCC)."
Celebrating the Word is based on the effective dynamics of the
small
group process (i.e.
listening, accepting, trusting and responding), and is designed to help people of faith to prayerfully discern meaningful connections between their "life Stories" and "the Gospel story."
More recent popes from Paul VI to Benedict XVI have been persistent in focusing their attention on "
evangelization" as the never ending primary mission of the Church. For added emphasis some of these leaders have introduced related concepts such as
re-evangelization and
new evangelization, best defined by Pope John Paul as "helping people everywhere
to hear the Good News again, for the first time."

Celebrating the Word is an effective resource and process which allows people to "get beyond the words and to the heart of Jesus' message. The unique small group dynamic tends to foster a climate of affirmation, caring and trust, disposing the participants to be open to each other and God's Spirit in surprising ways. When this empowering Spirit is
experienced by the group members as
nurturing and life giving, this is the ultimate gift. Several thousand subscribers have been using
"Celebrating the Word" during the past ten years and a number of them describe this
experience of the
presence and
power of God's own Spirit as their most most valued and privileged gift (click

Celebrating the Word has been designed to replicate the "the Liturgy of The Word" (i.e.
The Table of the Word), but now placed within the dynamic of a
small Christian community. As such it serves as a most practical resource for communities who do not have regular access to the celebration of weekly Eucharist.
